It was off to Homer early this morning to find a new Honda generator. The old one was just two months old and just getting broken in, but yesterday afternoon a thief cut the lock and made off with it while we were away. Drat! We're hearing more then a few stories this summer about thievery on the Kenai Peninsula, so if you come this way watch your stuff. Anyhow, for RV'ing you sure can't beat a
Honda EU2000i. Quiet, reliable, and easy to service.

Well what a shame! Almost sounds like camping in Mexico, huh? So sorry to hear about the loss of the generator! And knowing Alaskan pricing, your replacement probably cost more than the one the crooks took too. Guess you better batten the hatches anytime you leave the site. Weather there looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOoof! Nice generator, but no good way to lock it. The handle is hollow plastic. Easy to cut thru with a hacksaw.
ReplyDeleteI lock mine to the truck bed. Not overly convenient, but completely secure. I've seen others with a fitted cage of rebar covering the entire unit, allowing access to the good bits and also a way to lock it.
