Missoula, MT ---> Spokane, WA

 Blustery is the understated word for the day. We heard the high winds forecast last night so we got going early and over Lookout Pass and half way across Idaho before we hit the front. Bar the door Nellie! We had 40 mph gusts for the last hour into Spokane. We just slowed down and took it easy knowing that we could bail out down an exit ramp if it got too 'interesting'. Thankfully it was a quartering headwind and not a cross wind.

We're rockin' and rollin' in the RV parking lot at the Northern Quest Casino out at Airway Heights with gusts to 53 mph now.The tumble weeds are flying by the window.  I think we'll just keep the slides in tonight.

  1. We're rocking & rolling in West Yellowstone, as well. We picked up the generator today and the book...thank you! We almost had to rescue a guy in a Porsche from California. He was stuck in 2" of snow and whining that he had no snow chains. He wanted us to call AAA. He was inside YNP on Hwy 191, so Bill told him he would call a ranger, and he did, once we had cell service. Enjoy the wind!

  2. Well, we're not on the road for another 2 weeks, but we got the wind here on Puget Sound too. Our power went out at 4pm yesterday and just came back on a few minutes ago, 20 hours later. We were very close to moving into our Arctic Fox as the propane and solar power and catalytic heater would have kept us toasty and happy! So glad you didn't get blown over on the highway! Safe travels,
    Cathryn and Bob
